Ronan Keating Launches Young Fans CD

Pop Star Ronan Keating was in Belfast launching the debut CD from two of Northern Ireland’s most promising young singers.

Tammy Corbett (10) & Nicole McGoogin (12) both from Bangor were the respective junior & senior category winners of ‘Search for a Young Star’ which ran during the summer on local radio station Bangor FM.

The girls had to wow over thousands of listeners in an ‘X Factor style’ vote in order to triumph in the popular competition hosted by Citybeat 96.7FM presenter Stuart Robinson.

As part of their prize the girls were invited along to the Citybeat studio to record their very own CD single with Tammy recording a version of ‘Show Me Heaven’ while Nicole opted for the Madonna classic ‘Like A Prayer’.

Ronan currently promoting his new single ‘This I Promise You’ was in Belfast to meet the girls and listen to their songs and spent time afterwards offering hints and tips on how to succeed in the music business.

The excitement of Tammy and Nicole at the launch struck a chord with Ronan “ This reminds me of the first time I launched a Boyzone CD, it’s so exciting yet surreal seeing yourself on a CD cover for the first time – I wish the girls all the very best of luck as they’ve done so well to get here particularly in such a competitive competition.”

Citybeat’s Stuart Robinson has high hopes for the young singers “ They have both proven a big hit with our listeners and are definitely names to watch out for in the future. During the grand final of the competition they managed to completely fill the Flagship Centre in Bangor with thousands of fans who turned out to support them – its was an incredible day and they have amazing voices for their age.” ENDS
